The Realizing the Impact series is taking a deeper look at the Pandemic Echo cost on infants and children. In this series we have examined thesharp rise in substance use/prenatal expo- sure, trauma, and stressors on children. In this session, we will dive into the concerns related to children and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). We will discuss pediatric ACE’s, the Pandemic Echo, and how some of our providers consider ACE’s as they serve children. Attendees will also learn about the San Bernardino initiatives around ACE’s.
Exploring the trauma of the past two years and the potential for misdiagnosis and mismatched interventions as more children and families begin to re-engage with our local systems. This is an online event. REGISTER
Substance abuse remains one of the major public health issues that communities and families face every day. With the rise in prescription drug abuse and substance use in general (pandemic echo), over one million infants in this country per year are born with neonatal abstinence and/or neurotoxic effects on the developing fetal brain.
This year's theme, "Women Fit4Life," explores the connection between mental, physical, and spiritual health. Includes seminars on women's health issues as well as general sessions, a God in Shoes Community Outreach event, and a 5K fun run/walk. Dr. Kiti will be a featured speaker at this event.
Dr. Freier-Randall will be presenting on DEC Informed Care: San Bernardino County working together to change trajectories for high-risk children at the First Things First - Early Childhood Summit.
Dr. Kiti Freier-Randall will be a plenary speaker as well as, leading a break-out session at the Wisconsin Drug Endangered Children Conference. The plenary will cover the following topic:

The Third Global Conference on Lifestyle and Health will convene on the campus of Loma Linda University July 9 through 13, 2019, and focus on the interaction of mental, spiritual and physical health and well-being.
This course is designed for allied health, behavioral health and medical care providers who may come in contact with or provide services for infants who present with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and/or Neonatal Neurotoxic Effects (NNE). This course will provide multi-disciplinary information/training on the needs of prenatally substance exposed infants including developmental, OT, Speech and Language Pathology, Nursing, Mental Health and Foster Parents.

Dr. Kiti Freier Randall will be participating in the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws (NAMSDL) and the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) in a National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children Resource Group Meeting.
